A battling Aldermaston display on a cold Saturday afternoon was not enough to stop promotion chasing Hungerford , claim a deserved victory.

A try in each half though was just reward for a youthful Aldermaston side that were not overwhelmed as they had been in the reverse fixture earlier in the season. Captain Brinley Filer charged over from short range in the first half and Ian Martin calimed the second after the break following good approach work by the forwards.

Hungerford hit a purple patch twenty minutes either side of the break , with their speedy left winger in particular fine form, and whilst the result was never in doubt , they were given a game by the home side right to the end , aided by the introduction of fresh pairs of legs in the shape of replacements Nick Adkins and Ben Thornton-Hillier, both products of the Club Youth section.

The Aldermaston Fenton Plant Hire Man of the Match was Lawrence Jones , but the whole side deserves credit , especially the back row who tackled themselves to a stand still.

Better days are on the horizion !
